its been too long

so....it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to write a new entry. I think my Xanga is dead on arrival.

Random thoughts as I watch the Celtics v Hawks game in the hotel room in transit to China:
Mike Bibby looks more and more like Mini Me with a fro the more I look at him.
Gasol looks like a drunk muppet.
Josh Childress could probably jump higher if he reduced the drag from his fro.
Shanghai better be cool.
Hong Kong is always solid.
I hope I can sneak my way onto first class.
Watching Lost on the airplane might be creepy especially if they have flash backs about the crash.
Kara Wong is ridiculously good at mini-golf. She had 2 holes in ones.... or is hole in onesies?

Worky Dorky

Day 4 of work starts tomorrow. Going pretty well so far. Got an office with a window overlooking the parking lot so I can stalk people as they come in and out. My mentor is pretty young too and is teaching me the ins and outs. Unfortunately, my boss is not like Michael Scott from the Office, but I hear he likes the Office, so that "World's Best Boss" cup I bought will not be in vain.

Some high-lites:
1) Got my first pay check
2) Pinned up my UT stuff I got from Secret Santa TK
3) Got a zipchord thing for my ID so I don't have to unclip it when I scan my ID
4) Group took me out to the best restaurant in town... Chilis

Some low lites:
1) Burnt a hole in my khakis the night before my first day
2) Misspelled my boss' last name right in front of him
3) Nodded off in a presentation given by our president
4) Forgot my packed lunch in the fridge and had to eat cafeteria food

So I come home and check my email and I see my mom forwarded me an email she wrote to my uncle in houston.
it reads
"Eric had dinner with my mom, Linda and Andrew last Sunday. I heard he is going to Austin this weekend. You can check with him on his availability. I hope Edward would be able to spend more times with Eric and play balls."

Everytime I read the last sentence I crack up. It really made my day.

Wish I Was Still Warm in Hawaii

So I get off the plane in DFW and its 20 degrees. wtf...
Hawaii is like 80 in the winter. This is why it owns. Sky diving was the second most extreme thing I have done in my life besides being a Mechanical Engineer.

We saw the Frenchy guy from Love Actually on the beach. My stalker skills were not up to par so no clear pictures.

Also, Pierce Brosnan winked at Tiffany at the security checkpoint at the airport and we decided to hunt him down. So I have this great dialogue planned in my head it goes something like this:

me: 'Mr. Brosnan, I am a big fan and I would really appreciate it if we could get a picture with you'

007: 'I prefer my picture shaken.. not stirred'
everyone laughs and we get the picture

Instead Tiffany grows a pair before I do and she asks him before I get a chance. We get shot down so smoothly I'm not even sure we were denied until a couple seconds later... lending to an extra awkward moment.

He said something to the effect of, 'No thanks, I wouldn't like a picture right now.. I'll shake your hand though'

Oh well 007 you have escaped this time. But next time, I will definetly get a picture of you and your hairy chest.

Despite the rejection, still an awesome trip

Where did this last semester go? How did 4.5 years of college fly by so quick?

After finishing some episodes of HEROES, I wish I had the superpowers of the Japanese guy, to control time. But then again, I probably would just waste the extra time I would be granted. No big regrets. I guess its time to grow up.

One of the things I always wanted to do was go surfing again. I thought I was hot stuff because I could surf on a 11 foot board (almost as long as a canoe) in the easy waves in Hawaii. How hard could Hunington Beach waves be?
Really Hard.

In between laughing at Kimly as her 100 lb frame got swept away by the 5 foot waves and eating ocean myself, I think the closest I got to actually standing on my board was this:

We also got these spiffy wet suits that were extremely awkward to get in and out of. I almost felt pro until I realized our boards were basically long boogy boards =(. The guys renting us the boards said something along the lines of 'yea bro.. the waves are gnarley today'.

I wore my UT shirt one night and I think i got heckled by at least 3 homeless guys. I usually responded with "WOO TEXAS!" because I wasnt sure how to respond to it. I gave one guy my change cuz I wanted to be a good ambassador for the great country of Texas.

Living in Cali sounds so fun: nice weather, being able to say 'hella', and beaches/ mountains. It was interesting to hear a plastic surgery commercial on the radio about how a radio personality got her mother lypo suction and her sister a great boob job.

OU / birthday weekend has passed and now i don't think i have any big event to look foward to besides graduation =(
oh.. sick.

the makers of the state fair are geniuses. When I get enough money, I'm going to open my own carnie business. Going to the fair is like going to a foreign country.
First they charge you to get into a place where nothing is free and you have to convert your money into a new currency of 'tickets'. Here's the trick. Paying 3 bucks for 3 oreos would be effin stupid, so the carnies decide to fry the oreos and charge you 6 tickets, which sounds like a steal.

yea cheri.. taunt those stupid oreos

Another brilliant thing about the fair is the rediculously shady carnies. You know when you are playing that the best thing that can happen is you 'win' an oversized furry thing, or even a crappy guitar. The worst thing is that you can make an ass out of yourself while trying to climb a ladder like a monkey and fall over.

I love it when the carnies heckle guys, especially in front of their girlfriends because the guys will immediately try to win the prize. they must have gotten psychology degrees.

but all carnie hating aside, i really had alot of fun going to the fair and trying every piece of over rated fried goodness as well as hanging out with everyone.
